Workshop to learn how to make your property fire safe and more....

The City of Armadale is providing free of charge, an opportunity to learn all you need to know about protecting your home from bushfire. The City of Armadale is joining with the Forever Project (theforeverproject.com.au) putting on the Fire: Recovery and Resilience Expo. The event will explain the different ways to protect your home and minimising the impact on the environment.

Subjects include:

Fire safe sustainable landscape management and design;


Bushland management - How to balance fuel loads and biodiversity management;


Architectural advice/assistance - How to help interpret AS 3959, BAL assessments and give strategies and tips on building or retrofitting for fire safety and recovery;


Drought proofing, weed management, climate resilience and whole farm planning - How to plot prevailing winds, fuel loads and major fire sectors; and,


Bushfire survival plans.


A number of guest speakers will be in attendance including Chris Ferreira - leading authority on sustainable gardening, land care, sustainable development and energy efficient home design. His media work includes regular roles on 720 ABC Radio and Channel 9. Garden Gurus and Greenfingers gardening and sustainability program.
